We visited the Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks with LUWAI Tanzania in August 2024 over 4 consecutive days and it was an absolutely flawless, unforgettable trip for my mother, my two sons (aged 9 and 11) and myself. Silas organised a French-speaking guide named Omary who was the kindest and best driver ever, looking after everyone the best he could and making sure the trip was a total success. Words can’t describe how grateful we are to Silas for making this trip happen. If you ever want to visit these and other beautiful national parks in N-Tanzania, look no further!   Great safari to Tarangire and Ngorogoro
Silas was an excellent driver and guide, and we had a great two day visit to Tarangire and Ngorogoro. We started early in Arusha, stopped for excellent coffee at Lion's Cafe and Bakery, and made it to Tarangire park gate about 9:30 am. Silas had got the entrance taken care of the night before, so we were through the gate in five minutes. Excellent day in the park, seeing lots of elephants, giraffe, vervet monkeys, warthogs, and lots more! Highlight was getting to a pool just as a small elephant herd arrived, and the "teens" started playing in the water. We were looking especially as baobab trees, and of course in Tarangire you will not be disappointed- hundreds just in a few hours, all shapes, sizes, bark stripped, young, fruiting (!), paratisized by ficus, etc... was great. We drove to Karatu and spent the night in an Airbnb, and then next morning went up (and then down) to Ngorogoro. What an experience! The crater/caldera is indeed one of the wonders of the world. Silas was excellent as guide, knowing just where to go for good viewing, and filled with interesting information about the animals and ecology. All in all a great two days. Highly recommend Luwai Tanzania Safaris. By the way, we had two vegetarians in the group, so both lunches were basically vegetarian, and were excellent.

Our safari trip was nothing short of extraordinary and that is in large part due to our incredible guide Silas (partner/owner of Luwai Tanzania Safari). He has an enormous knowledge of wildlife, an incredible eagle eye and a huge passion for his beautiful country. These skills are complemented by a nice smile and a good heart. Silas not only wants to give his guests an unforgettable trip, he also supports the school where he grew up and helps them rebuild the miserable accommodation they have (Luwai Foundation). You can safely rely on this cheerful Tanzanian and therefore you do not necessarily have to work with a European organization that often works with subcontractors. Your dream holiday, their future.   Wonderful wildlife experience with a top Safari guide!
We had a truly fantastic Safari time with our top driver/ranger Silas. With his outstanding knowledge, his capacity to spot the right places for wildlife, his excellent driving skills (a must for the challenging roads:)) and his ever good laughter, Silas guided us through the beautiful landscapes of Tanzania. He took us into the wonderful world of native wildlife, but also gave us a lot of insights into the Tanzanian culture. After the intense game drives, beautiful lodges always awaited us where we could unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner. Africa at its best! We will cherish this trip for a long time.   Incredible safari experience with Luwai!!!
We just got back from a 6 day safari with Silas through Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. Friends of ours had gone on safari with Silas and highly recommended him. We had an absolutely incredible, unforgettable experience and highly recommend Luwai Safaris to anyone thinking about taking a safari!Silas was very flexible and accommodating while planning our trip - he was responsive and happy to jump on a call as we brainstormed a custom itinerary. When we arrived in Tanzania, he was waiting at the airport with cold water, snacks, and a huge smile. He is such a warm and kind person and we couldn't have asked for someone better to spend a week with!On our safari, Silas shared endless knowledge about the landscapes and animals we encountered. His wildlife expertise and years of safari experience are evident right away. He was happy to accommodate any and every request we had and really cared about us having our ideal experience. We got to do early morning game drives, scenic outdoor picnics, and sunset drives as the big cats were coming out to hunt. Silas always made sure we were comfortable in the jeep, well fed, and enjoying ourselves.Our accommodations were also fantastic - Signature Tented Lodge was a favorite in Serengeti, but all the tented lodges were a blast. One night we arrived to a lodge that was very close to a controlled burn happening in the park, which the lodge had not notified us about. Silas immediately jumped into action and booked us a new accommodation in a part of the park where he confirmed there was no smoke.The most unique part of Luwai is that it is co- owned and operated by Silas, someone who is Tanzanian and has an intimate knowledge of the country's culture and history. We were lucky enough to get to visit the school that Luwai is working to improve through their foundation, which is also the school that Silas attended as a child. The classrooms were in need of significant repairs and one of them has no walls, desks, or chairs. While we were visiting the school there was a team of workers renovating classrooms as part of this work. If you are considering a safari, we absolutely recommend Luwai - you won't regret it!!

  Incredible experience !
My brother who gives me the safari as a birthday present, wel it was a live experience. I 've never seen so many wild animals in my life, mammals, even a leopard, birds, butterflies in a beautiful and ever-changing landscape. From Ngorongoro-crater , Tarangiri true the Serengetti and travelling around Mount Meru. Guided by a passionate, friendly, helpful guide Silas who lives in the region and therefore knows how to find all the animals in their habitat. Just ask and he drove me there!   Wonderful Safari with Silas
