Climb Mount Meru with us

In eastern Tanzania, mount Kilimanjaro is not the only challenge for climbers.

Mount Meru is at least as challenging.

Spectacular views, breath-taking landscapes and captivating wildlife are part of the challenging climb.

The lower parts of Mount Meru, are in the Arusha National Park. Here you will encounter monkeys, warthogs buffalo and, with a bit of luck, elephants, and giraffes during your trek.

The crater rim walk is a breath-taking trek, and the 360-degree view from the top of Meru overlooking Kilimanjaro is not to be missed.

6 Day Trip - 5 Day Mount Meru Trekking

Although Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, gets the most attention when it comes to climbing in Tanzania, there are other peaks worth considering. For instance, its sister mountain, Mount Meru, is well worth climbing. 4,566-metre-high Mount Meru, Africa's fifth highest mountain, is a dormant stratovolcano in Arusha National Park, 70 kilometres west of Kilimanjaro. Climbing Mount Meru is also a great wildlife experience as you hike past wild animals.

We develop initiatives to fill basic needs such as water and electricity and developed an investment programme for education and healthcare. Through these efforts, Luwai Tanzania Safaris is thus helping to build a stronger, more resilient community that can better cope with the future.
